GRADUATION FLAIR

Columbia hair professionals partner with non-profit organization Powerhouse Community Development Corporation and Columbia Public Schools to offer free graduation haircuts and hair styles to 5th graders at title-1 elementary schools. For maximum impact, we make every attempt to provide services within 3 days of graduation.

May 2024, 110 students in total were served at the following elementary schools: Alpha Hart, Battle, Benton, Blue Ridge, Fairview, Locust, Parkade, Shepard and West.

*Title-1 is a federal aid program for public schools with a high percentage of students from low-income households. For the 2023-24 school year, 8 of the 22 public elementary schools in Columbia were title-1 accredited. All but one school accepted our invitation to serve their students.
